Professional Devleopment: ISLA Educators
ISLA’s team of educators works collaboratively to develop curriculum using Mexican, Ecuadorean and Colombian pedagogical models with a goal of closing the academic achievement gap for Latino youth.
Each summer and throughout the school year, professional development provides ISLA teachers new skills and resources to create high quality Spanish language and cultural immersion and inquiry-led learning, within and beyond the classroom. in 2017, ISLA teachers attended the Deeper Dive Institute at Duke School in Durham, North Carolina to learn new ways to implement project-based learning for Pre-K through middle schooll heritage language students.
Thank you to the Strowd Roses Foundation for grant funding of professional development for ISLA teachers.
